Here are some of the highlights from Moss Park Gardens:
Our bug-hotel has been refreshed by two young volunteers:
The mural on the electricity sub-station was painted by students at Trafford College.
In 2022 we planted a tree to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II's platinum jubilee:
Rowan 'Pink Pagoda'
During the Covid 19 lockdown we invited local children to paint a stone and leave it in the garden. We were delighted with the beautiful painted stones that were contributed.
Two new planting areas were created:
Rockery
Loggery
We commissioned the hare sculpture which was created from an old tree stump.
In 2019 we were delighted to receive an 'Outstanding' award in the Britain in Bloom 'In your neighbourhood' category:
Two benches were installed by our volunteers, encouraging passers-by to 'take a seat':
After a battle to eradicate ground elder from one of the borders, we planted a hydrangea bed and they are now a highlight of the summer:
Our compost heaps allow us to recycle the plant waste and improve the soil in the gardens:
One of the early changes in the gardens was the removal by United Utilities of the old canopy on the front of the sub-station and the creation of a new planting area:
